Denise Williams Bio

Kansas born, Wichita raised, Santa Fe artist Denise Williams has been creating art for more than 40 years. With private instruction from her mother, Denise mastered the human figure by age twenty. It is the skin tones of various admirable beings she uses as her pallet in creating the soul of her impressions of landscapes, seascapes, abstracts and figures. From earth we come and to earth all returns, so it makes perfect sense. . ..


"Gauguin said it was the obligation of the artist to create not imitate," Williams says. "I believe that, but I also believe it is about capturing the essence of the moment, what you want to remember, what heals; the soul of whatever you are creating, for without that, there is no life even in canvas."


Williams' work is collected through out the US and Asia.
