Works of David Derr to be Displayed at
5th Annual ArtWalk Nyack

Internationally exhibited artist and Morris County resident David Derr will again be featured at ArtWalk Nyack in Nyack, NY during the weekend of June 18-20. Mr. Derr is returning to the street festival that featured posters he created as the primary marketing tools of the event in 2008 and 2009.

Mr. Derr is one of twenty artists who will be located at places of business throughout the town. He will be exhibiting a selection of paintings and assemblages at Grandview which is located at 11 South Broadway. Additional artists will be highlighted at the Edward Hopper House Art Center at 82 North Broadway.

ArtWalk Nyack will be held Friday, June 18 from 7-9 PM; June 19 from noon till 5 PM & 6-9 PM; and June 20 from noon till 5 PM. For additional information call David at 973-442-8300 or the Nyack Merchants Committee at 845-348-1767.

Mr. Derr has won numerous awards including: the Adobe Digital Imaging Competition, International. Digital Mural Competition and NY Art Director's Club. Professor Lee is to display in the exhibition mainly his “Treasure Gate Series” and “Color Traverse Time Series.” The former takes the auspicious antique lion head door ring as the material; the latter takes the imitation Chinese bronze antique objects as the main body. Rockwater Art Center Work Shops
Rockwater Art Center, a beautiful private art workshop facility and gallery in our turn of the century farmhouse on a landscaped acre with four water features. Director, Derek Gundy (who is also Manager of our sponsor, Artist Edge art supply stores) and Carrie Goller have scheduled workshops with some amazing artists - Juliette Aristides, Jim Lamb, Ned Mueller, Michele Usibelli and Max Grover are just a few. Rockwater Art Center encourage signing up now as these workshops are quite small (usually 8 - 15 students, depending upon the instructor) and will fill up fast. This kind of intimate setting is very rare, especially for sought-after teachers such as Juliette Artistides who has a very full schedule. For example, Juliette has her own Atelier at Gage Academy, teaches in Italy, just taught 120 students over 3 days in Oklahoma, is currently the subject of a documentary on drawing, is finishing another book and just addressed an entire university. I had the good fortune of taking this young classical realism master's workshop a few years ago; we are so fortunate to be able to host her at Rockwater.
